The best first Spain-by-train route
For a first trip, start with Madrid → Seville/Córdoba → Granada → Barcelona if you have 10 days, or Madrid → Seville → Barcelona if you only have 7 days. This keeps the trip city-centered, avoids car rental friction, and creates natural booking opportunities for hotels, high-speed rail, and attraction tickets.
